Four of our favourite superyacht bathrooms

With thanks to Lürssen, Heesen Yachts, and Feadship

While not necessarily the first area noticed on a superyacht, bathrooms and spas are spaces to behold on board, and provide a sanctuary for guests and owners to relax in. Bathrooms also feature some of the most beautiful and innovative interior designs, with careful consideration for every detail.

Yachting Pages looks at some of the best superyacht bathroom designs, showcasing the incredible design potential of an often under-appreciated space on board.

1. M/Y Coral Ocean – Lürssen

M/Y Coral Ocean

Resembling a luxurious Polynesian beach house, Coral Ocean (originally Coral Island) is a legendary Lürssen vessel and her interior is said to be one of the defining masterpieces of the late, great Jon Bannenberg. Natural materials are featured throughout her Polynesian-inspired interiors, as can be seen in the guest bathroom with its authentic yet polished design, and it even includes seashells as taps.

2. M/Y Savannah – Feadship

M/Y Savannah

Launched earlier this year, M/Y Savannah has already cleaned up at the award ceremonies, and looking at her owner’s bathroom, it’s easy to see why, with such flawless design details created by CG Design.

The use of glass is incredibly impressive and the bathroom is no exception; the marble finish throughout gives the space a clean, modern yet luxurious feel. The marble also creates a stunning mirror effect when combined with the masses of light coming through the windows, making the sink and cupboards look almost transparent.

3. M/Y Sea Owl

M/Y Sea Owl

Sea Owl truly is a superyacht like no other; inspired by Peter Pan, she is an enchanting vessel, full of fairy tale fantasy-inspired décor, designed by Andrew Winch, and this guest bathroom is no exception.

Finished in grey tones of marble, the mosaic tile floor of horses and sea creatures is quite spectacular, and something very unique to superyacht bathroom design, as is the bath with its taps designed in the shape of fish.

4. M/Y Ann G

M/Y Ann G

Designed by Reymond Langton, Ann G’s interior décor is the ultimate homage to the incredible era of Art Deco design, with a contemporary twist. The yacht was entirely custom-built for the owner, and the bathroom exudes Art Deco glamour in both its materials and designs.

Sara Gioanola, PR and press office manager at Heesen revealed more about the difficulty of the bathroom design, “The mosaic in the bathroom is a custom design inspired by New York deco. From a technical point of view, it is precious because of the different stone hardness (you need very skilled craftsmen to polish it) as the stones react differently to the treatment.”
