Fraser Yachts sells Project U77 motoryacht

French yacht management company Fraser Yachts has announced the sale of part-built explorer motoryacht, Project U77.

Built from steel and aluminium, U77 is currently 50 percent complete, with expected delivery in 12 to 18 months, depending on the owner’s decided layout. Fitted with twin 1,100kW Caterpillar engines, the U77 will have a fuel capacity of 258,457 litres. Her maximum speed will be 15.5 knots, with a range of 7,007 nm, or 8,028 when cruising at 13 knots.

The interior offers space for 20 guests, with the owner’s suite on the bridge deck and access to a private aft deck. There are then a total of eight guest cabins across the main and lower decks. Her upper deck features an observation lounge, and there are large outdoor deck spaces with a swimming pool and tender options. The sun deck will also be able to convert into a helipad.

Having begun construction in 2006 at Chilean shipyard Marco Yachts before being sold, U77 was never registered, and put back on the market after being shipped to New Zealand. Fraser Yachts then offered $15.9 million for the yacht and all equipment needed for her completion.

The sale was a result of collaboration between Stuart Larsen and Ken Burden, of Fraser Yachts. Larsen commented, “She is heading across the Pacific right now on dock express.”
