Fuegy launches new fuel barge for superyacht bunkering

Fuegy Ltd, a Hong Kong-based bunkering and commercial fuelling operation has recently announced its new fuel barge, ‘Lady Dragon’.

The vessel has undergone a full refit, including the installation of ‘cutting-edge’ fuel filtration and polishing systems to guarantee contaminant-free diesel, a high-speed pump for ‘fast, efficient’ superyacht bunkering, West Marine fenders and protection pads line the side to replace the industry-standard tyres and chains, as well as a calibrated meter to guarantee accuracy for clients.

Al Fullerton, managing director at Fugey Ltd., said, “Being founded and built by marine experts and yachtsmen means that everything we do is specifically tailored for the protection of our clients’ boat and engine.

“Everything from a professional crew and highly experienced captain for safe bunkering, to a full concierge service for our clients to manage their bookings, payments and after-sales service; we are the number one fuel supplier for the marine industry because we genuinely care and genuinely know our stuff.”

Fuegy hold a number of superyacht clients, including yachts from Benetti, Amel, Sanlorenzo, Feadship, Oceanco, and Trinity.

Fullerton continued, “We are extremely methodical about our fuelling. Each Superyacht has a detailed blueprint prior to fuelling, including a site visit and equipment check by our chief technician Hamish Pope. We then provide all parties with a fuelling procedure manual that stipulates everything from how we will bunker and tie up, to sample procedure, flow rate, time allocation and respective roles of our team.

“We treat this the same way ground crew treat the refuelling of an aircraft, and in doing so ensure the safety of our client’s vessel and crew, and the very highest standard in quality and service.”
