Heesen Yachts announces sale of project Serena

Heesen Yachts has announced the sale of YN 20555, a 55-metre (180-foot) Steel FDHF and the first in the restyled series. Project Serena will be delivered in autumn of 2024, in time for the winter season in the Caribbean.

Arcon Yachts Monaco introduced the client, an experienced yachtsman who appreciated the exterior lines, the generous enclosed volume of 760GT, the proven design platform and reliable performance.

Friso Visser, CCO at Heesen Yachts, commented, “The 55-metre steel series is proving to be a remarkably successful yacht - it is big enough to accommodate the luxury expected of a superyacht, and yet small enough to access the more intimate Mediterranean ports.”

Project Serena is the seventh in this successful line of yachts, but sports some interesting new features that set her apart from her sister ships. The yacht features a larger expanse of floor-to-ceiling glass in the main saloon and sky lounge, and horizontal lines that stretch the optical length and balance the air draft.

The design also includes a French balcony in the owners’ apartment on the main deck forward, less formal layouts for the outdoor areas that focus on alfresco dining, additional stairways for more fluid circulation, and an extended sun deck layout for additional floor space.

Luca Dini Design and Architecture worked closely with Omega’s team and Heesen’s engineers to optimise the internal layout, make the most out of the 760 GT and enhance the floor-to-ceiling windows.

The ultra-efficient FDHF devised by van Oossanen and engineered by Heesen’s in-house specialists will deliver reduced fuel consumption and supreme comfort in rough waters.

Project Serena also features two MTU 8V4000 M63 IMO III of 1000 kW. Each will deliver a maximum speed of 15.5 knots and a transatlantic range of 4.500 nautical miles at 13 knots.
