Heinen & Hopman to make a splash on the Discovery Channel

Discovery Channel has launched a new series following the Dutch luxury yachting industry, its leading characters and the technology behind this exclusive sector.  Heinen & Hopman Engineering, a specialist global supplier of maritime climate technology, features in four episodes of the programme called ‘SuperYachts’.

The Dutch luxury yachting industry has always been at the forefront of innovation, technology and design.  A century of shipbuilding, traditional values of craftsmanship, the latest technologies and the finest equipment are all ingredients for a spectacular and exclusive series about the industry and its pursuit of perfection in luxury yachts.

The new ‘SuperYachts’ series takes an unprecedented look behind the scenes at prominent yards such as Vitters, Hakvoort, ICON and Balk.  Companies that underpin the industry such as Vripack and Heinen & Hopman also feature strongly.

The fact that Heinen & Hopman works with so many different yacht builders has meant that the company will be featured in no less than four episodes.  Jessica added, “It was both a pleasure and a privilege for our personnel to be involved in a project like this.  The systems we install on board superyachts are obviously concealed behind the panels so to speak, and are designed not to be noticed.  Our highly talented craftsmen and engineers are also rarely in the spotlight, so we are pleased that they have been recognised in this way.”

‘SuperYachts’ will be broadcast internationally in six 30-minute episodes, premiering in the UK shortly.
