The patented Hydropath technology, which was developed over 20 years ago to combat scale issues in residential water heaters, has recently developed a range of products for various marine applications.
The Hydropath Marine (HM) range has been specifically designed for marine applications and according to Hydropath Marine, provides captains and engineers with an eco-friendly, cost-effective and maintenance free solution for on-board water systems against the harmful effects of lime scale, biofoul and pipe corrosion in both fresh and sea water.
Hydropath Marine explained how the product works by stating, “The liquid solution inside a ship’s pipe system contains minerals that are dissolved as ions. The Hydropath technology uses a robust yet harmless AC electrical signal to prevent the formation of limescale deposits on the surfaces of pipes and equipment. In addition to the prevention of scale, the device also eliminates bacteria and reduces pipe corrosion.
“The Hydropath Marine device induces an electric signal of ±150kHz into any water pipe on which it is installed (metal or PVC). The device simply fits around the pipe with no need for plumbing modifications. These durable water conditioners are fully encapsulated, waterproof and outfitted with a specially-designed surge protector, which allow the devices to be effective in the harsh and often unstable conditions of the marine environment.”
Hydropath Marine also listed the main benefits:
