Increased growth and a diversified client base: Business at The Boatworks

Earlier this year, The Boatworks, specialists in superyacht carpentry and joinery, announced the launch of a new website, which was commissioned to support the recent growth of the business.

The announcement came at the same time as a move to new premises in Antibes, France, which was coordinated in order to cope with the increased demand for bespoke furniture and yacht interior refits, as well as domestic carpentry projects.

Hamish Beattie-Jones, founder of The Boatworks said, “2015 sees the launch of our new website and reflects our growth in our move to bigger and better premises in Antibes. It also catalogues more of our works and reflects the diversification in our client base over the years.”

Founded in 2004 by Mr. Beattie-Jones, The Boatworks has grown and evolved over its 11-year history without losing sight of its original intention: to be the best in the industry, providing high quality, design-led carpentry, intelligently delivered to a high-end market.

Hamish explains, “Cabinet-making is at the core of our business. We incorporate a combination of modern technology and solid, traditional carpentry skills to deliver joinery of the highest standard. We take pride in the quality of our work and operate with an emphasis on creating an honest and intelligent dialogue with our clients in order to achieve the best results.”

The new website features a clean and easy-to-navigate interface with a focus on the photography of their bespoke design pieces in situ on board luxury yachts, and within the grounds of luxurious residences and hotels.

Now that the launch of the website and office move are complete, Hamish reveals the next Boatworks project; a range of tables made from a single oak board. He said, “Each table is unique in that it retains the outline of that chosen tree and has legs from anything from polished stainless steel to Corian. The finished product is a striking combination of earthy and modern, and one not available anywhere else in the world – Truly a unique design piece.”

The business has also recently designed outdoor furniture for a client wishing to furnish a luxury chalet in Switzerland. Hamish outlined how western Red Cedar was used in order to create stylish, functional pieces for a serene setting, with “the furniture providing the final defining element in a beautiful picture”.

He evaluates how the business would love to do more work like this as the team enjoy the diversity of work commissioned by the company, including “beautiful and varied materials, interesting clients and sometimes some incredible requests. We love the challenges most of all. Anything is possible and our projects continue to prove as much.”
