Inside the autonomous Viking-inspired superyacht concept Drakkar S

Superyacht designer Max Zhivov has revealed an autonomous superyacht concept operating on artificial intelligence.

The futuristic 26-metre (85-foot) design Drakkar S is inspired by Scandinavian culture and Viking ships, and is remote controlled thanks to a sophisticated autopilot system.

Aimed at inexperienced charter guests embarking on short getaways, the technology allows guests to control the yacht with their smartphone. After choosing a location in an app, the yacht’s system will set and plot the route.

The technology, which negates the need for a captain, is so accurate that the yacht would berth itself and even be able to identify underwater obstacles.

Powered by electric power engines, Drakkar S features 80 square metres of solar panels on the exterior.

Inside, the yacht features a saloon/kitchen and accommodation for eight guests in two masters and two guest cabins.
