Isaac Burrough Design unveils 60m sailing catamaran concept

Amsterdam-based yacht designer, Isaac Burrough has revealed the concept of his “radical” 60m sailing catamaran.

As the first concept to come out of the newly founded design studio, the 60m catamaran utilises the large interior space of its multihull design with a focus on guest comfort and luxury rather than a strict performance experience as with similar concepts in the past.

Designer Issac Burrough explained, “Before now, most sailing superyacht catamaran designs have focused on high performance. Conversely, this concept presents a dynamic on-board environment, where guests can enjoy both active and relaxed experiences in ultimate luxury.”

Perhaps the most notable design feature of the vessel is her glass-topped superstructure, which wraps over the top and down either side of the saloon to bring bring the outside vistas in.

The main deck interior offers a dedicated cinema for up to 12 people on the central part of the main deck, beneath the raised-bridge area. The remaining space is then divided into two areas with a formal dining area on the starboard side with large bar area, and a gym and two elliptical lounge areas on the port side.

Burrough said, “The exceptional thing about a catamaran of this length is that you can have an efficient, slender hull form while also creating a spacious luxury interior. It also reduces the needs for an excessive amount of stairs to access various spaces on board.”

On-board guest accommodation houses up to 12 guests. There are two 50sqm VIP cabins forward either side of the main deck, each equipped with full-height windows forward on the bow, providing outstanding views out without interfering with guest privacy, as this bow area is sheltered between two bows.

There are three additional guests cabins forward in the lower port hull, each with en-suite bathrooms and private entry through a fold-down hull door midships.

At the aft, there is an expansive deck space with infinity pool and outdoor cooking facilities for entertaining and relaxing. Linked to the interior by an elliptical winter garden with full-sized windows, pulling in natural light. Sunlight also enters the vessel through a glass-bottomed Jacuzzi on the sundeck above, accessed by a cantilevered staircase.s

Once open, her 10m hull door reveals a health club with hammam, sauna, Jacuzzi and massage area. The starboard hull also houses a beach club with storage space for water toys and water sports equipment, including paddleboards and scuba equipment.

Tender storage is located on the main deck forward of the accommodation, with space for a 10m tender in the port hull, and a 6m tender and three personal watercraft startboar.
