Italian Yacht Masters hold Captain’s Day 2021 at Marina di Loano

The Captain's Day 2021, held by the Italian Yacht Masters association, took place on 10th and 11th November, and was organised and hosted by Marina di Loano.

Captain's Day talk

More than 110 guests, made up of superyacht captains, brokers and industry professionals, attended the event at Marina di Loano’s convention hall. The subject of the event focused on the yachting industry in the post-COVID era, and trends for the next 10 years.

The day featured talks and conferences from a range of leading industry professionals, such as captain Gino Battaglia, founder and president of Italian Yacht Masters, Gianluca Mazza, CEO of Marina di Loano, captain Maurizio Capitani, vice president of the association, captain Luca Triggiani, Jonathan Beckett, CEO of Burgess, Raphael Sauleau, CEO of Fraser Yachts, Erik Althaus, CEO of Althaus Luxury Yachting, Gianluigi Bocchio, deputy mayor of Loano, and more.

After the talks, the guests took part in a B2B meeting session, lunch offered by Italian Yacht Masters, and networking activities until late afternoon.

Captain's Day conference

Battaglia announced his decision not to stand for re-election as president of the Italian Yacht Masters at the next board meeting in December, but to remain at the association’s service. The assembly then proposed and acclaimed him as honorary president.

Before the end of the meeting, Marina di Loano invited the participants to take part in a survey that asked people what they think the most important features are of a modern marina. The day ended at the Marina di Loano yacht club headquarters where the Italian Yacht Masters captains attended a dinner, with entertainment offered by Marina di Loano.
