In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
John Percival Marine Associates (JPMA) maritime school has announced that it is celebrating an increase in first-attempt passes for its students taking crew-training exams in 2015.
According to JPMA, results have shown a significant increase in first-attempt passes for candidates in written and oral exams in most subjects.
Written exams included Deck OOW and Master modules in Celestial Navigation, in which JPMA’s pass rate was 74%, compared to the 61% worldwide average. There was also an increase in written engineering exams, with the Y2, Y3 and Y4 pass rate at 85%. New for students in 2015 was the Y2 General Science I and II module, in which JPMA’s combined pass rate was 72%.
In oral examinations, JPMA shared that first-time Yacht OOW candidates achieved a pass rate of nearly 80% in 2015, while Master <3000gt candidates saw results reaching 89% in 2015, compared to 76% in 2014.
Results for oral engineering exams remain at an all-time high, with JPMA's Y4 students achieving a first-time pass rate of 100%.
Anna Percival-Harris said, “Deck and engineering modules and oral exams are our specialty, and we’re proud to announce our most recent results.
“We limit class sizes to ensure our student to instructor ratio gives the best possible outcome of exam and student experience, and overall, these results reflect the commitment and determination that not only our students show, but also our instructors, who will continue to help enable seafarers to reach milestones within their yachting careers.”
