JPMA welcomes new recruits to expanding crew training team

John Percival Marine Associates (JPMA) UK crew training school has announced that it has added several new recruits to its expanding team.

Following on from the recent retirement of two of its long-serving instructors, captains Bill Marr and Keith Cederholm, JPMA has recruited several new deck and engineer instructors to the team in order to “bring a wealth of fresh knowledge and experience to the classrooms”.

According to the crew training school, two new additions in particular have a comprehensive understanding of the needs of JPMA’s yachting students; one of whom has 12 years’ experience working on superyachts, holding his own OOW <3000gt Certificate of Competency. The other is currently a rotational yacht engineer, holding a Y2 Certification of Competency.

Anna Percival-Harris, managing director of JPMA and principal of the partnering Hoylake Sailing School said, “Each instructor has completed a thorough training programme, bringing them up-to-date with our new regulations and introducing them to our unique and effective teaching styles.

“JPMA is set to continue growing, as we are always developing our current list of RYA and MCA courses, taught here weekly. We are very lucky to have a dynamic team of instructors who are dedicated to giving students the tools required in order to pass their exams and build their confidence in becoming more able seafarers.”

In line with the newest edition of COSWP, JPMA is currently running a ‘Safety Selfie’ competition for yacht crew with the chance to win a GoPro Hero camera.
