JQB Design announces commission of 53m superyacht design

JQB Design, the American yacht design company, has announced the commission of a new 53m tri-deck motor yacht.

This new 53m superyacht, as yet unnamed, will be built in the United States, with JQB Design being responsible for the both the interior and exterior design of the hull – no renderings of the project are currently available. 

In addition to the new construction, JQB is also overseeing the interior and exterior design of a new 44m motor yacht, which is currently under construction at Crescent Yachts in Richmond, B.C, Canada, as well as working closely with a US client on the full design of a custom 40.5m Horizon motor yacht.

The Seattle-based design studio is celebrating 20 years of business this year, as the company was first established back in 1995.

Jonathon Barnett, the company’s founder, started his professional design career in 1987, where he worked with the renowned Jon Bannenberg of London. After nearly seven years of world-class design experience, Barnett then returned to the US to start his own design business.
