Karpaz Gate Marina launches free online training talks for boaters

Offered By Karpaz Gate Marina

Karpaz Gate Marina, home to the first Royal Yachting Association-recognised training centre in North Cyprus, has launched a series of free online training talks for boaters looking to improve their sailing knowledge.

The Five Gold Anchor-rated marina is running the webinars in spring 2021 to help attendees prepare for the season, with many people across the world still required to spend more time at home due to travel and social restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Led by Karpaz Gate Marina’s RYA training centre chief instructor, Erez Ben Eshay, from Ocean-Yachting, the English language lectures offer a special virtual opportunity to learn more about a variety of sailing topics, such as modern navigation, weather, ocean crossing, and licensing and insurance.

The Karpaz Gate Marina series of Zoom webinars launched with the first talk on Monday 1st March, discussing Modern Navigation for Boaters. The next lecture scheduled is on Monday 15th March and entitled Licensing and Insurance for Boaters, covering the UK’s Brexit, the EU introduction of the ICC coastal and inland skipper license, and how insurance is becoming more dependent on weather areas and skippers’ and owners’ knowledge and experience.

Register for the webinar here.

All upcoming lectures take place on Mondays at 16:00 (UTC), 18:00 local time, and will be announced on the marina’s Facebook page along with the registration link. Attendance numbers for the free webinars are limited and on a first come, first served basis. Recorded versions are available on request.
