Karpaz Gate Marina reports increase in berthing enquiries

Karpaz Gate Marina has reported a 30% increase in berthing enquiries from boat owners, and more interest from visitors following its win as The Yacht Harbour Association’s (TYHA) International Marina of the Year award in January 2017.

According to representatives, the Gold Anchor accredited marina in northern Cyprus is preparing for a record-breaking summer due to the increased exposure granted by the award.

Deniz Akaltan, harbour master at Karpaz Gate Marina said, “To be recognised as the International Marina of the Year for 2017 is a huge honour for Karpaz Gate. Since winning the award we have been busy preparing for the 2017 season. We have seen an increase in interest from international boat owners over the past few months and therefore anticipate 2017 will be a very successful year.

“Since we opened in 2011, we have developed the marina and welcomed new visitors from around the world. The award is the outcome of an incredible amount of work and commitment by the marina team. We are now planning to lead the development of North Cyprus and introduce it to more sailors and international boaters.”

This week, the Cypriot marina welcomed its first superyacht of the 2017 season – the 56m Oceanco motoryacht Queen Mavia, which arrived at Karpaz Gate Marina before visiting Kyrenia and then returning to Karpaz.

To prepare for the 2017 season, the marina is continuing to provide a range of offer packages for boat owners, including free lift out and antifouling, berthing discounts, flexible contracts and special care packages.

The Karpaz Gate Beach Club also reopened on the Easter weekend with visitors now able to rent a luxury beach cabana from 50TL per day, and marina clients receiving free entry and a discounted cabana price of 30TL.
