Lady A superyacht launched after refit

Burgess Marine has recently announced the re-launch of 55m superyacht, Lady A, after a ten-month refit at its ship lift facility in Portchester, Portsmouth.

Lady A originally arrived in Portsmouth from Sanremo on 5th September 2015 for her refit. At the time, Burgess Marine revealed she was to undergo minor structural, mechanical and electrical modifications, as well as the installation of new Naiad stabilisers. The yard also revealed she would undergo modifications to the interior and exterior styling, with a new external paint scheme.

Designed by Jon Bannenberg, Lady A was originally launched in 1986 and is rumoured to be owned by Lord Sugar, although Burgess Marine has not officially confirmed this. The refit was deemed an “outstanding success” by the owner’s team.

Lady A is a UK-flagged displacement yacht, featuring a GRP hull and aluminium and GRP superstructure, and teak decks. She offers accommodation for 12 guests, and is powered by twin Caterpillar engines, with a top speed of 16 knots and range of 2,500nm at 13 knots.

Lady A will now complete her commissioning in Southampton, before heading to the Mediterranean for the summer season.
