Lantic Entertainment Systems wins second Palmer Johnson 170 Sportyacht project

Lantic Entertainment Systems, one of the only designers and manufacturers of integrated AV/IT platforms dedicated to the superyacht sector, has announced that it has agreed to supply a complete audio-visual system with integrated CCTV and air-conditioning control for Palmer Johnson’s latest 170 Sportyacht project.

This is the second agreed collaboration that Lantic has enterted in to with the US superyacht builder, as the Danish brand also supplied the AV system for MY Bliss, the Palmer Johnson 170 that was launched last summer.

This new agreement will see Lantic design and supply the audio-visual infrastructure, plus the central reception, storage and control systems for a total of 21 independent zones, plus five slave zones – typically bathrooms or secondary deck zones. These zones include the internal owner and guest areas as well as eight crew areas and the external decks.

The project will also see Lantic supply and install the third-part peripheral equipment, including monitors - some of which will be integrated into mirrors – speakers and amplifiers. These will be fully compatible with equipment from all high-end manufacturers for flexible usage.

Designed to interface with a wide range of other on-board amenities, the Lantic systems will allow for complete control of the local environment via the Lantic RC20 app, which can be operated on a tablet or smartphone.

In this case, the Lantic system will control the lighting, blinds and air conditioning on a zone-by-zone basis. It will also interface with the on-board CCTV and FLIR cameras, giving access to real-time streaming on the entertainment screens as well as portable smart devices. According to the brand, this is ideal for security, monitoring children and other similar applications.

Unusual in an installation of this type, the Lantic HDTV streaming server is being configured for both traditional Sat-TV decoders and also IPTV decoders via internet broadband. This will facilitate HD viewing when in an area with 4G coverage.

With the yacht now nearing completion, Lantic will have the system built, tested and commissioned in time for operation on board this season.
