Lizard Yacht Service has signed an agreement for a new superyacht service centre in Palma, covering the Mediterranean and the South of France.
The luxury yacht servicing and maintenance company will support Wills Ridley in Spain and the South of France for servicing and repair on all steering gear, working on the many superyachts in their portfolio that are based in the Med.
Emlyn Jones, managing director at Lizard Yacht Service, said, “With a base in Palma Mallorca, we are strategically positioned to assist Wills Ridley with their service and upgrade programmes going forward.”
The new development follows an agreement earlier this year, awarding Lizard Yacht Service the Wills Ridley dealership in the UK. The company’s UK base is in Falmouth, Cornwall.
Amanda Martin, director at Lizard Yacht Service, commented, “This is an exciting time for both companies. The Balearics is fast becoming the heart of the superyacht industry for the Med. As Lizard Yacht Service works alongside Wills Ridley in the UK, it is a natural next step to extend the relationship to our Spanish company based in Palma.”
Jones continued, “We will be starting with a new upgrade for current users of Wills Ridley steering systems, including a full digital gauge upgrade and software upgrade for easier control and better accuracy. These customers will be contacted and offered the upgrade in the coming months.”
Ryan Kitchener, director of Wills Ridley, added, “In addition to these upgrades, we will be servicing and supplying new pumps from the Wills Ridley portfolio, refurbishing existing power packs, and handling the design and build of new power packs. This will assist shipyards in Spain and France with refit of their superyachts.”
