Lürssen signs 110m superyacht refit contract

German shipyard Lürssen has recently signed a refit contract with the owners of the 110.1-metre (361-foot) superyacht Jubilee. The project will commence in Hamburg at the Blohm+Voss shipyard, where Jubilee will remain until May 2020.

Peter Lürssen, CEO of Lürssen, said, “Refit has become a core business for Lürssen and I am very happy and proud that the owners of Jubilee have decided to have the refurbishment work done with us. Our group has unique facilities and a second to none potential to undertake multiple refits at a time, all in Northern Germany.”

Eclipse, Mayan Queen, Octopus and Rising Sun are all superyachts which have previously undergone refit modifications and maintenance work at the Blohm+Voss shipyard.

The Germany-based facilities have the capacity to accommodate numerous yachts throughout its seven shipyards, backed by 2,700 employees including 700 engineers and naval architects.
