The 142-metre (465-foot) Lürssen superyacht Nord has been delivered.

Live AIS location data shows the yacht has now left the yard's Lemwerder facility and is en route to Gibraltar. It comes after the yacht, which was previously known as Opus and Project Redwood, was captured underway on sea trials in the Baltic Sea.

The six-decked yacht hit the water for the first time in July 2020 at Lürssen's yard. Nord was technically launched in January 2019.

Designed by Italian design studio Nuvolari Lenard, Nord was first announced in December 2015 by Moran Yacht & Ship as a 139-metre (456-foot) project.

Project Redwood boasts a number of high-end features, such as a sports and diving centre on the lower deck, a large swimming pool, two helipads and a fleet of tenders measuring up to 15 metres (49 feet).

Nuvolari Lenard is also responsible for the interior design, which features accommodation for 36 guests in 20 staterooms.

In a statement, the studio previously said that Nord "will have efficient, long-range cruising capabilities for independent global exploration."

The Moran Yacht & Ship new construction team is overseeing the build at the German yard and aim for delivery later this year, when she will take her place among the largest superyachts in the world, most likely ranking in the top 15.

This is not the first time German shipyard Lürssen has collaborated with Nuvolari Lenard and Moran Yacht & Ship. 88-metre (288-foot) Quattroelle was delivered by the same partnership in 2013 and the yacht was a finalist at the 2014 World Superyacht Awards.
