Austal, leading global shipbuilder and defence prime contractor, and Marina Barcelona 92 (MB’92), the largest shipyard in the Mediterranean specialising in the refit and repair of superyachts, have signed a strategic partnership agreement to offer leading support services to the superyacht and high speed vessel markets.
MB’92 and Austal believe the partnership will unlock significant value for both industries.
As part of this agreement, Austal will provide naval architecture, engineering, aluminium fabrication, welding, pipe work and consultancy at MB’92.
Henk Dreijer, commercial director of MB’92 commented, “This partnership is an important step for MB’92 and forms part of the expansion plan of the shipyard. Austal has extensive naval architecture experience and is a leading builder of aluminium vessels for the private, commercial and defence sectors, which will benefit our clients and will strengthen our position in the industry.”
Andrew Bellamy, chief executive officer of Austal said, “Partnering with MB92 is a significant milestone in the growth of Austal’s Global Support Services Business. MB92 is a market leader with world-class facilities and we are absolutely delighted to be working together as strategic partners.”
