Algarve marina Marina de Vilamoura, has been awarded the title of ‘International Marina of Distinction: 2015-2017’ by The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA).

Awarded on Thursday 12^th January in a presentation at the London Boat Show, Marina de Vilamoura received the award after winning ‘Best International Marina’ for three consecutive years. Voting was carried out by boat owners who have visited marinas with the “5 anchors” classification; Vilamoura has upheld its “5 Anchors” for the last five years.

Isolete Correia, director of Vilamoura commented, “It is with enormous pride that we receive this award, one that is so important to the Algarve and Portugal. The award represents recognition for all the work that we have developed for more than 40 years.

“This prestigious award is testimony to the service that we always strive to provide and is specifically for the last three years, giving us even more encouragement to fulfil our commitment to improving our services and infrastructures.”

As well as being a well-known destination internationally, Vilamoura marina is also a Blue Flag award holder and received over 3 million visitors in 2016. According to a statement, the marina received a €500,000 investment in 2016, and will continue to modernise and improve its infrastructure in preparation for summer 2017.
