Marina Ibiza is in constant search of new initiatives to collaborate and promote good environmental practices among its clients, workers and marina users.
Due to this, it has now installed a Seabin in one of its pontoons that traps the waste floating on the surface of the sea.
The Seabin design allows water to pass through a catch bag which in turn filters the water to remove debris, micro plastics (down to 2mm small), microfibers and other water pollutants.
Marina Ibiza has also carried out the annual cleaning of its seabed that delimits the port, in which, with the help of divers, the bottom is cleaned of objects that are left there by human action.
From shopping carts, batteries and bicycles, to construction scaffolding, a washing machine and tyres, Marina Ibiza retrieves various objects from the bottom of the ocean during its annual seabed clean.
Its team of divers tracks and identifies these objects with buoys, to then pull the ropes to which they are tied, remove them from the water and prepare them so that they are correctly recycled.
