Marina Port de Mallorca and Marina Palma Cuarentena declare war on ocean pollution

Spanish superyacht marinas Marina Port de Mallorca and Marina Palma Cuarentena are on a mission to raise awareness about the vast amount of waste and debris being discarded in our oceans. The marinas carry out an annual seabed clean and are appealing for other marinas to follow suit.

A group of 12 divers dove into the water surrounding Marina Port de Mallorca, using two boats and with the help of the dock staff they managed to extract a shocking amount of waste that had been dumped in the ocean.

About 10 shopping trolleys, a bicycle and an electric scooter are some examples of the items that had been left there.

Another group of three divers and two dock staff members plunged into the Marina Palma Cuarentena waters where two shopping trolleys, a pushchair, bicycle, electric scooter, barrier and multiple car and truck tyres were removed.

Marina Port de Mallorca and Marina Palma Cuarentena hope that the applause and congratulations received from the passers-by and clients is an indication that their annual seabed cleans are raising awareness to the general public, clients and marina users about the importance of taking care of the environment.
