Taking a total of seven months, the refit, which was carried out at the Navantia Shipyard in Cartagena, Spain, saw a complete overhaul of the bridge, engine control room and galley, and the installation of new, significantly more fuel-efficient propellers.
The most notable aspect of the MML refit is, however arguably found within the beach club, which now includes a hidden swimming pool with glass bottom, teak Jacuzzi and table. When not in use, these descend at the touch of a button with the whole conversion taking just five minutes to complete.
With young children often on board, safety is a key concern of the owner, who requested a removable rail to be installed around the pool and Jacuzzi area.
Matt Liddell, technical manager at MML said, “Working in partnership with Arctic P’s captain and crew over the years has enabled MML to fully understand their specific requirements for each refit or period in maintenance. We can then do our utmost – through careful planning, preparation and negotiation – to ensure all work is completed to a high standard with minimum impact on the yacht’s cruising schedule whilst striving to achieve best value for money for their comprehensive work packages.”
