Marine photography competition launched – The Superyacht Shot

Yachting Pages, the leading superyacht directory is launching The Superyacht Shot today, 14th November. In this global photography competition, established and budding photographers will get the chance to showcase their stunning imagery on the front covers of Yachting Pages’ printed directories and be awarded free advertising space.

With over 60,000 copies of the directories delivered annually – often by hand – to key players and superyacht captains around the world, the winners of The Superyacht Shot will receive worldwide coverage and recognition. Yachting Pages is the industry’s most trusted and well-used business directory; in a recent survey of 200 captains and senior crew in the Mediterranean it was found aboard 98% of superyachts.

The Superyacht Shot competition offers up to three winners a once-in-a-career opportunity to get their work on the covers of Yachting Pages’ directories and in front of this entire, ultra-high net worth industry.  The company prints three separate editions of Yachting Pages; a Mediterranean, Europe, Africa & Middle East version, a USA, The Americas & Caribbean copy and an Australasia, Asia Pacific & Far East Version, so there are three opportunities to win.

Julia Budniak, brand manager of Yachting Pages said, “Superyachting is unfathomably glamorous. It’s sleek and sophisticated. Yachting Pages’ directories and website exist to connect businesses with their customers within this elite and unique group – and we’re looking for a fresh new look that reflects the industry’s key tenets.

“We are looking for striking style, regardless of genre, from classic angles to conversation-stopping originality. Aerial overviews or abstract close-ups, nocturnal imagery or underwater action, people-driven or vessel-driven shots, colour or black and white, we want to hear from innovative photographers worldwide and to see their work. Ideally we’ll be swamped by a digital tsunami of entries to this competition, and we’ll share the best through our social media channels.”

The competition’s deadline is 10th December 2012, with judging taking place pre-Christmas to fit in with tight production schedules.

Ms. Budniak added, “We’re looking for superyacht shots to end all superyacht shots. If we discover a new Beken of Cowes or Rosenfeld while we’re at it, the marine world will only benefit from this.”
