MCP Yachts preparing for construction of 36m project Seaview

Brazilian custom yacht builder, MCP Yachts is preparing to lay the keel of a new 36.5m motor yacht designed by Dutch design studio, Vripack.

Construction is due to begin on Project Seaview in November this year. According to Vripack’s creative director Bart Bouwhuis, construction will last around 18 months putting her delivery time at summer 2019.

Commenting on the project, Bouwhuis said, “We’re proud, a bit nervous and very confident this will lead to better yachts for the MCP clients in even less time than today."

He continued, "Creating maximum space value on a 120'er required a creative approach to space planningA very energetic co-creation process between owner, MCP and our team lead to a perfectly sensible yet highly unconventional layout.

"Her main deck contains two guest cabins in addition to the owner's stateroom. Two additional VIP rooms are located on the lower deck and the upper deck is fully dedicated for the family with a forward facing observation lounge including an a-symmetrical balcony for private family moments. The skylounge has gulwing lookouts allowing for a forward facing view adjacent to the connection to the large sheltered aft deck. And all this neatly separated from the crew so they can perform to their best abilities as well."

President and CEO of MCP Yachts, Manoel Chaves said of the yacht’s characteristics, “Vripack designed a new hull which allows for a very high level of comfort even in rougher weather while maintaining her semi-planing characteristics. This will give the family a long reach of sailing destinations within a shorter time while they all enjoy wonderful valuable family moments on board.”

MCP’s 92.5m THP project is also still under construction at the yard. Commencing at the end of last year she has undergone some design changes mid-build and is now taking on a much more aggressive shape than her original design.
