MDL Marinas installs Tesla charging points across UK marina network

MDL Marinas has announced a second wave of Tesla charging points across its UK marina network.

According to the marina, following the success and excellent feedback received from members after the initial launch last year, new charging points have now been installed at its Shamrock Quay, Mercury, Northney, Penton Hook, Woolverstone and Windsor marinas (16 amp).

Type 2 Universal chargers have also been installed alongside the Tesla chargers at these marina sites (excluding Windsor and Penton Hook Marina), allowing ease of access for other models of electric cars.

Second-wave installations follow the introduction of electric charging points at some of MDL Marina’s UK locations last year, including Ocean Village Marina in Southampton, Cobb’s Quay Marina in Poole, Queen Anne’s Battery in Plymouth and Hamble Point Marina. The installation saw MDL become the inaugural UK marina operator to feature the charging points.

MDL Marinas was also the first marina operator to launch Wi-Fi in 2004, and is well-known for being a company that sets the industry pace, with a full corporate social responsibility plan and one of the most comprehensive berthing packages available in the marketplace.

Adrien Burnand, head of marketing at MDL Marinas said, “We are always striving to find new ways to add value to our member experience and recognise the increased demand for electric vehicles and charging points, as the industry evolves.

“Following last year’s UK launch and the popularity of the chargers, we are delighted to be introducing electric charging points at more of our marinas. The installation offers our members greater flexibility, as well as a marina experience which recognises the importance of providing sustainable and environmentally-friendly travel options.”
