In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
Turkish yard Mengi Yay has expanded its construction facilities and pledged to introduce a series of new environmentally sustainable initiatives.
Its construction facilities now cover 18,365 square metres, while all hangars are now undergoing renovation. The expansion has taken place to optimise the facilities available to the yard’s craftsmen and engineers.
Meanwhile, Mengi Yay has confirmed that it will introduce a host of environmentally sustainable measures into the running of the yard itself, and its new-build superyachts.
Among these initiatives includes a pledge to fund the planting of replacement trees to compensate for the yard’s environmental impact, and to introduce fully electric and diesel propulsion engines into its new builds within five years.
According to the yard, the pledge will help Mengi Yay to achieve its ambition to “transition to sustainable energy without compromising from the high-end quality”.
Mengi Yay is also developing a new division that will produce software that will measure a yacht’s power management system and make autonomous decisions to reduce fuel consumption on board.
The yard said the measures are a result of company-wide improvements affecting its shipyard and offices, company working structure and website.
In a statement, the yard noted, “As the history teaches us that great innovations don’t come from huge companies but come from companies who try to make the world a better place.”
