Micca Ferrero purchases majority shares of ICON Yachts

Swiss businessman Micca Ferrero has acquired a majority of the shareholdings of Dutch shipyard ICON Yachts, and its related companies.

Commenting on his latest move into the superyacht sector, Ferrero noted, “ICON Yachts is a highly specialised shipyard for yacht conversion and refit projects. It is a great honour to join such a strong team, constantly striving for the Dutch excellence. Our new projects will also shape the future of yachting.”

The yard is well-known for its conversion projects, including the 2020 refit of 68.2-metre (223-foot) superyacht Ragnar, which was originally build in 2012 as an Icebreaking Multipurpose Support & Supply vessel.

The yard’s facilities are located in Harlingen, the Netherlands, which provides ICON Yachts with uninterrupted access to the North Sea. It boasts a 150-metre (492-foot) dry dock, a 90-metre (295-foot) floating dock and 500 metres (1,640 feet) of mooring space.
