In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
Oliver George, 26, who threatened a yacht club barman with a fake gun as he was refused Prosecco, will not face justice for two months because he is flying to Barbados.
The millionaire’s son, who lives on the Sandbanks peninsula in Dorset, appeared in court two days before he is due to fly out to his family home in the Caribbean.
After pleading guilty, it was agreed by the magistrates that his sentence could be postponed until December, so he can first go on his month-long holiday.
George was ordered to go home to collect his £1,100 plane ticket during the proceedings, which proved that the holiday was booked before he committed the offence.
He is facing a maximum sentence of six months in jail for possessing an imitation firearm in a public place.
George became angry when staff at the Sandbanks Yacht Club in Poole Harbour refused to serve him any more alcohol, due to him seeming intoxicated. He then proceeded to lift up his cardigan and revealed the handle of a pistol that he had tucked into the waistband of his shorts.
It is said that he then told the barman, “Don’t be a p***y, give me a drink.”
Consequently, staff gave George a glass of Prosecco before contacting the police when he had left the bar area.
George was arrested shortly after at his family’s £2million harbourside home, 140 yards from the yacht club.
Terry Scanlan, defending, told the court, “I understand there is medical assistance the family can source in Barbados, and this is someone who has been involved with Mr George in the past.
“For all sorts of reasons, there are benefits to this trip,” he added.
Scanlan stated that whilst his client is away he will see a doctor three times a week to treat ‘alcohol-related issues’.
George will be sentenced on 4th December.
