Nautibuoy Marine shortlisted for DAME Awards 2015

Nautibuoy Marine has announced its nomination for a DAME Design Award for its multifunctional inflatable marine platforms, which launched in April 2015.

The DAME Design Awards are a part of the Marine Equipment Trade Show (METS), which is to be hosted in Amsterdam this year from Tuesday 17^th to Thursday 19^th November. This year marks the silver jubilee edition of the design competition for new marine equipment and accessories, recognising excellence and innovation in design. 

In a recent press release, Nautibuoy Marine shared that it has been shortlisted in the highly competitive deck equipment, sails and rigging category. Its platforms feature a patented modular air-toggle system and have a range of uses, as a swimming and sunbathing platform, jet-ski dock or base for carrying out essential maintenance tasks on the boat. 

Founders Nina Anderson and Clay Builder are both former superyacht crew themselves, creating the platform to fill a gap they saw in the market. Clay commented, “The Nautibuoy Marine platform was created out of the frustrations we felt whilst working as crew. It solves a lot of issues for crew members as well as being a great addition for yacht owners and guests’

“We have had incredibly positive feedback from the boat owners, guests and crews that have enjoyed our platforms over the summer. We are delighted to have now been shortlisted in the DAME Awards. It is a complete honour to be recgnised by one of the most important awards in the marine industry, and to win would be the icing on the cake for a fantastic first six months of trading.”

Following customer feedback, Nautibuoy recentl launched its Pure Maintenance Platform, a tender-free solution for crew, which will be shown for the first time at this year’s METS.

Clay continued, “We have listened closely to our customers, and have created a version of the platform which is just for maintenance use. It can be single-handely inflated and launched anywhere in less than five minutes, providing instant access to the water line. Gone are the days of having to detail the tender after a full topside wash down. Our unique ballast bag system provides excellent stability in the water and enables easy removal from the water after use.

“We are continuously innovating, and during METS we will also be seeking feedback from potential customers about the creation of a stand alone single platform, designed for boats in the 10 to 20, size range, which we hoping to launch next summer.”

The DAME Award winners will be announced during the Breakfast Briefing on the opening day of the METSTRADE show at the Amsterdam RAI Convention Centre.
