New Design for ‘World’s Largest Single-Masted Yacht’ is Revealed

We are pleased to reveal that designer Ron Holland’s new stern is part of the Mirabella V superyacht’s ongoing refit project.

 

Launched in 2003 at an estimated cost of more than $50 million, Mirabella V is the largest single-masted yacht ever built.

 

Holland’s changes are shown in the ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures (right).

 

Mirabella V, which will be renamed “M5” upon its completion, is being refitted at the Pendennis Plus shipyard in Falmouth, Cornwall, UK.

 

New Zealand-born Ron Holland, now based in Ireland, was Mirabella V’s original designer. His anticipated refit project also includes an exterior upgrade, a new main deck seating area, a sky deck extension, and a redesigned hull side platform.

 

Holland’s previous refit projects include Ethereal in 2008, described on his website “as probably the most technologically innovative superyacht ever built.”

 

His team also worked on the innovative 45m Marco Polo motor yacht in 2007. The vessel won the Showboats International Award for ‘Best New Series over 40 Meters’.

 

The Mirabella V project also includes upgrades to the yacht’s onboard systems and a full rigging overhaul. Redman Whiteley Dixon (RWD) or Hampshire, UK, is handling M5’s interior refit.
