New fire control panel that’s big on features

Identifying precisely where smoke, fire or a detector fault has occurred on a yacht is crucial to ensure the safety of all on board. Based on its highly successful Triton 8, Sea-Fire has introduced the scaled Triton 2 addressable fire detection panel.

Developed for use on medium to large commercial vessels and superyachts, the Triton 2 offers the capacity to drive up to 252 addressable devices over its two integrated loops. By adding up to three repeater panels and the optional expansion module, the unit can provide 16 loops for 2,016 devices.

Unlike simple zone-based fire detection systems that indicate a general response, the Triton 2 pinpoints both the exact location and type of incident. This allows for a faster reaction to the situation.

The backlit panel is easy to operate and features a front keypad with wide-angle LEDs. Users can select from English, French or Spanish, and the system automatically records an event log.

The Triton 2 is programmed using the interface, or a PC can be connected via a serial port. Addressing the detectors is easily done using the supplied software.

The Triton 2 will integrate with external equipment such as voyage data and asset management recorders, and general alarm and public address systems. The panel offers support for Apollo addressable detectors and accessories.

Users can allow the inhibition of one or more devices for a programmable delay of one to 30 minutes by using the optional Triton 2 Tempo. This is especially useful for areas such as workshops or deck garages that might produce exhaust or welding smoke.

Running at 24 VDC, the integrated automatic electrical supply crossover provides security during power interruptions, operating under a wide range of temperatures, from 5° up to 70° C.

The surface mounted panel is easily installed and has a limited number of wires. Compact, it measures 170mm L x 168mm W x 58mm D. Triton 2 is approved by Marine Equipment Directive (MED).
