New management for Port Vauban

Vauban 21 has announced itself as the new management company of Port Vauban in Antibes, following the launch of a DSP (public delegation contract) by the city of Antibes to find a management trustee.

Taking over management of Port Vauban and Port Gallice from 1st January 2017, Vauban 21 has been entrusted with responsibility for the ports for the next 25 and 15 years respectively. Its aim is to return Port Vauban to the Mediterranean’s top yachting hub, and provide high levels of service for visitors.

Its planned works will include much more than the renovation of the marina, according to Vauban 21, with its first priorities including service upgrades, as well as “the quality of welcoming guests, the technology and the general organisation of the marina”.

The second stage will include the creation of a ‘Yachting Campus’ in St Roch, “in order to offer “the best training, seminars and conferences in the yachting industry”, and a ‘Yachting Technology Hub’ through a partnership with Sophia Antipolis.

New capitaineries will be built on the IYCA and in Port Vauban, with the IYCA seeing a bigger and stronger helipad, crew leisure facility with fitness centre and library, and storage boxes for the yachts installed all along the quay.

The new Port Vauban capitainerie will see a “new, elegant, panoramic view restaurant” with a large rooftop terrace, and new Yacht Club for owners and their guests.

600 underground parking spaces will also be created, and a walkway of around 7km around the marina development.

Vauban 21 has estimated that 135-million Euros will be invested into the port in the next 15 years.
