In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
Towards the end of February a new shuttle service is due to commence that will link the two Monaco ports of Port Hercule and Fonteville with the new Cala del Forte marina in Ventimiglia, Italy, which opened last October.
Cala del Forte is owned by Ports of Monaco.
An A2V high-speed shuttle, that was named Monaco One when she was launched in La Rochelle last December, will operate the new shuttle service. The €1.2 million (c. £1 million) shuttle is a 12-metre (39-foot) craft able to carry up to 12 passengers.
She was designed and built by Advanced Aerodynamic Vessels. Due to its innovative aerodynamic design, fuel consumption has been halved, even when cruising at speeds of over 40kt. The catamaran is powered by two 350hp motors and can reach a top speed of 93km/h.
Monaco One is shaped like an inverted wing, a design that brings together marine and aeronautical engineering.
The service will take 15 minutes to link the two Monégasque ports and the recently opened marina. Cala del Forte is just 7.9Nm from Monaco and is fully operated by Ports of Monaco. The marina offers 178 berths from 6.5 metres (21 feet) up to 70 metres (230 feet)-plus and includes a boatyard that is able to work on yachts of 30 metres (98.5 feet).
The marina is operating on a concession which extends to 2094, the longest in the Mediterranean.
