Omega Architects announces 60m Heesen concept

Dutch design studio Omega Architects has released its latest steel and aluminium yacht concept, which has been created for Heesen Yachts in response to a client request.

The pair has developed a profitable relationship over the last two decades, collaborating on in excess of 40 superyacht projects. This latest concept represents one of the largest constructions at 60.4-metres (198-foot).

According to Omega, it has struck a balance between contemporary exterior styling with clean, chiselled lines, and a flexible 1,060GT interior that offers scenic views out to sea.

With a particular focus on practicality, the superstructure was widened amidships to allow for wing stations that are cleverly integrated into the design by the sculpted shape of the two decks above.

According to Omega, it took the client’s enjoyment of adventurous watersports to inform the yacht’s extensive garage, with room for three tenders and a Jet Ski. This area can also be converted into a superyacht beach club, with 23 square metres of space for guests to relax by the water.

Among the concept’s other features are a 140-square-metre superyacht sundeck with a ten-person dining table and a sunpad-flanked Jacuzzi.

Accommodation is for up to 16 guests across seven cabins, including a full-beam master suite with its own private aft deck, while the crew quarters allows for up to 15 staff.

Power would come from a pair of MTU 12V4000 M65L engines for a top speed of 17.5 knots and a transatlantic range of 4,200 nautical miles when trimmed back to 13 knots.
