Luxury experience experts Origen Escapes has announcd the official opening of its newest sales and operations office at the Marina Bahia Golfito in south Costa Rica. In alliance with yacht agent Maritima Interoceanica and charter broker Aquazeal, Origen Escapes will offer its trademark extraordinary itineraries and experiences alongside agent and charter brokerage services in a one-stop shop for Costa Rica’s yachting market.
With years of experience in the industry, Origen believes in Costa Rica’s burgeoning yachting industry. The new location in the very south of the country, an unchartered territory for most travellers, brings with it new opportunities for innovative experiences created exclusively for yachts. With its easy access to the bio-intense nature of the Osa Peninsula and the surrounding rainforest, as well as the proximity to the world class diving of Caño Island and Cocos Island, it is without doubt becoming an increasingly popular yachting destination.
“We are incredibly excited about the new charter law that was introduced last year,” said Gemma Cope, director of sales and marketing at Origen Escapes. “It will be the start of a huge growth in the yachting market here and in Latin America as a whole, something which we are proud to be at the forefront of with our new office here in Golfito.”
The recently opened state-of-the-art Marina Bahia Golfito was designed with larger slips to accommodate superyachts and, as the first stop when travelling from Panama, it is considered a key marina in Costa Rica. Origen Escapes’ presence there will provide both a warm and knowledgeable welcome for yachts arriving. A member of the Experience Yacht Services alliance and a key player in the introduction of Costa Rica’s recent change in charter laws, Origen has plenty of industry knowledge in its ranks. This places them in a position to advise on onward journeys, specifically the Pacific triangle made up of Costa Rica, Panama and the Galapagos.
