Overmarine has launched the first steel and aluminium superyacht from its Long Range line, Mangusta Oceano 42, in a ceremony at its Pisa shipyard.
According to Overmarine, the owner and his family were present at the launch ceremony, along with the local authorities, the mayors of Pisa and Viareggio, and the entire staff at Overmarine. Alberto Mancini, who designed the Mangusta Oceano 42, was also present at the ceremony.
Maurizio Balducci, CEO of Overmarine commented, “Today has been really important for us, as this is the company’s very first three deck displacement ship. She is also the first to be built in metal, and the first to be constructed here at our Pisa shipyard.
“Most importantly, however, we are both happy and proud to be able to say that this is the day on which we launched a beautiful ship, with unique features for a unit of this size.”
Oceano 42 is the first in Overmarine’s Mangusta Open Yacht line, and is described as a beautifully modern and elegant yacht, with a blend of taught sharp lines. Standout features include a swimming pool with an infinity-style waterfall overlooking the bow, and a glazed skylight at the bottom of the swimming pool. On board, she offers accommodation for up to 12 guests and seven crew.
Talking about the sale of Oceano 42 and the future of Overmarine, commercial director Francesco Frediani said, “This sale marks and important step for our shipyard and for our ocean-going vessels line. This is a segment in which we believe we can play a key role and become a leader, as indeed we believe we already are in the Maxi Open segment.”
