Palma Superyacht Show 2021: The countdown begins

With the Palma Superyacht Show less than one week away, marina Moll Vell is a hive of activity and the capital alive with the kind of excitement only reserved for the biggest events. From a rocket-sized water station to awe-inspiring selection of superyachts and Michelin-starred delicacies, here are some highlights to look out for during the 2021 edition of yachting’s favourite event.

Aside from multi-level motor yachts boasting superlative luxuries, a sweeping selection of sleek sailing yachts will be jostling for visitors’ attention this year. These multi-purpose yachts are the type that turn heads on the water and in the marina as easily as they can take intrepid owners to the most remote corners of the globe. The Ed Dubois-designed 37.92-metre (124-foot) cruising ketch La Cattiva and the race-ready 30.48-metre (100-foot) Nautor Swan Varsovie are two such yachts, as are the easy-to-sail 24.97-metre (81-foot) Oyster Rivendell and stunning Baltic Yachts-built 35.77-metre (117-foot) Path.

The Palma Superyacht Show is the kind of event where exciting business connections are made at stands as well as in the sunshine with a drink or appetizer in hand. This is why the Fosh Group will not only make sure visitors and exhibitors are well catered for but also that the bar/restaurant area is suitably inviting. The Fosh Lounge Area will be serving glasses of wine, inventive cocktails and seafood platters, all of which can be enjoyed with views of Bellver Castle, while kicking back on Universal Nautic's stylish outdoor furniture.

The Palma Superyacht Show is delighted to affirm a third collaboration with Cleanwave. Reducing the use of single-use plastic bottles on the Balearics is high on its green agenda. The local non-profit will be on-site to man a 600-litre water-station, allowing visitors and participants to fill up reusable bottles for free.

The Palma Superyacht Show has also teamed up with two local NGOs: Yachting Gives Back and Save the Med. Yachting Gives Back is a concept founded by GYG’s Nick Entwisle, which collects non-perishable foods from yachts and yacht services for charities like Mallorca Sense Fam (Mallorca Without Hunger) while Save the Med focusses on the Mediterranean’s marine regeneration through research and education.
