In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
Perini Navi has announced the launch of its 70m sailing yacht, Sybaris, the “largest sailing yacht ever constructed in Italy.”
Due to be launched in an official ceremony on 7th May, Sybaris is the result of a collaboration between Perini Navi’s in-house team and French designer Phillippe Briand. According to a statement, she represents the “latest and most important evolution in the company’s drive for innovation and construction excellence.”
Her superstructure is described as “streamlined and contemporary” by the brand, with a fly bridge of 18m, the largest of any sailing yacht afloat. She features the latest in sail handling and electric power management technology, according to Perini Navi. Her sail plan of more than 2,300 sqm is controlled by twin carbon fibre masts supplied by Rondal in Holland. She can also be sailed entirely from the cockpit consoles, using Perini Navi’s innovative electric winches and software.
The brand also stated that Sybaris represents a “decisive step forward in terms of power management, with two variable-speed generators supplying electrical power via a DC bus to the vessel’s main electrical grid with the potential to store excess power in lithium polymer batteries. The system improves efficiency, reduces emissions and provides a silent anchor mode at night or in protected areas with the generators switched off.”
Sybaris will begin an intensive series of tests and trials following her technical launch, before final completion this summer.
