Perini Navi delivers 60th superyacht

Perini Navi has announced the delivery of its 60^th superyacht, Dahlak, at the Picchiotti yard in La Spezia.

The 38m aluminium sloop is the second of Perini Navi’s series of performance sailing yachts, which were designed in collaboration with naval architect Philippe Briand. Upon receiving his vessel, the owner said, “It’s a profoundly emotional moment for me. This is something I have envisioned for a lifetime.

“The Perini Navi team listened and understood my requirements. I’m an owner who wants to sail the boat himself. I also don’t want to have the engines running while sailing, or during the night. At Perini Navi, I found a very positive environment where I could express my vision, this is reflected in the finished yacht. Together with the team, we achieved this – these are true evolutions in sailing.”

Perini Navi described S/Y Dahlak as exemplifying Perini Navi’s commitment to innovation and build excellence. The shipyard described Dahlak’s “state-of-the-art” electric captive winches which can be controlled by one joystick, ensuring “efficient and controlled manoeuvres. A lithium polymer battery system allows the yacht to be operated purely by battery power, including while sailing. The interior of Dahlak was described as “luminous and contemporary”, using the finest materials and attention to detail.
