Perini Navi announced two new projects this week at a press conference in Milan, both featuring “innovative technical solutions” and “sophisticated hybrid-propulsion systems”.
The first is a 25.5-metre (83.6-foot) all-aluminium hybrid motor yacht to be delivered in early 2019 as a tender and supplementary vessel for an existing client with a 50m Perini Navi sailing yacht.
A cross between a chase boat and a tender with state-of-the-art propulsion, the ‘Eco Tender’ will be a smaller sistership to the owner’s existing yacht, with all the same characteristics.
Designed in-house by Franco Romani and his team she will come equipped with a contemporary interior and flexible layout. She will also have two drones aboard to scout out remote areas, following in the path of her “impressive predecessors”, M/Y Exuma, Galileo G and Grace E.
Also in development at the yard is a 42m (138ft) sailing yacht, called E-volution. The aluminium sloop has been designed by American yacht designer Jim Pugh and branded by the yacht builder as a “progressive step for Perini Navi.”
She comes equipped with a powerful sail plan, carbon-fibre mast and rigging, assisted by a hybrid-propulsion system, combining diesel engine with electric motor. According to the builder, she is ideal for long-distance cruising and meets the needs of a “new generation of owners seeking impeccable design, simple sailing and performance”.
Also announced at the press conference was the seventh edition of the Perini Navi Cup, which will take place at the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda from 19th to 22nd September 2018.
