Peters & May joins forces with J Class Association

Peters & May Group has recently announced that it has signed a formal partnership agreement with the J Class Association.

In a recent statement, the bespoke logistics business shared that it has provided its specialist logistics and shipment services to this class of yachts for decades, now extending its support through a formal partnership with the Association.

The J Class Association was founded in 2000 to protect the interests of the Class - present and future. Louise Morton, secretary of the Association commented, "We have a long standing working relationship with Peters & May and are delighted to welcome them as a partner to the J Class Association.

“The Class relies on their professional expertise to move containers of equipment and stores around the world for the J Class fleet. This new global partnership signals an even closer working relationship with one of our most trusted providers.”

The 2016 season will see J’s, including Velsheda, Lionheart, Shamrock, Ranger and the new J8 Topaz, racing in America and Europe in the Candy Store Cup in Rhode Island this month, the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup in Porto Cervo in September and finally in St Tropez at the annual Les Voiles de St Tropez regatta.

The class will then move on to the 2017 circuit, kicking off with the St Barths Bucket, before heading to Bermuda for the America’s Cup Superyacht Regatta, swiftly followed by the J Class Regatta.

Craig Stanbury operations director of Peters & May Yacht Racing division added, “Our passionate support for marine racing across all classes knows no bounds, from the latest Grand Prix yachts to the historic J Class fleet.

“Our role, which we relish, is to provide a first-rate bespoke service to owners, crew and the wider team, ensuring that these beautiful yachts and all their equipment reach their destination in prime condition so that fans all around the world can witness their exquisite design and craftsmanship.”

Peters & May will be announcing its 2017 Bermuda sailings to complement the 35th America’s Cup and Superyacht Regatta in the near future.
