In the realm of maritime luxury, the quest to offer yacht charter guests the perfect night's sleep has become an art form, one which luxury bed and linen supplier, CC Design, has fully committed to.
London-based yacht designer Philippe Briand has unveiled new details and renderings of his 62.84-metre (206-foot) sailing yacht concept SY200.
SY200 is the second yacht concept from the French designer’s new series of self-sufficient performance yachts, following the 90-metre (295-foot) SY300.
Briand’s latest concept, designed to emit zero emissions, features ‘minimal hull lines’ and ‘flush decks’, producing a ‘contemporary look’.
She is fully-wind propelled with sails, designed to harness up to 2,000kW of power in ideal wind conditions, enabling her to reach speeds of over 20 knots. Meanwhile, the yacht’s turbines could allow her to generate 500kW when sailing at 15 knots.
The sailing yacht will be able to accommodate up to ten guests across five cabins, including a full-beam owner’s suite, comprising a private terrace with a Jacuzzi, and four sizable guest cabins. Guests can enjoy the 16-seat dining table in the cockpit, which provides an al fresco dining experience, along with protection from the sun and panoramic ocean views.
SY200 will also have space for up to 12 crew members.
Briand commented, “I believe that we need to embrace ‘lateral thinking’ when it comes to the future of sailing yacht design. We want to work alongside owners to create the perfect renewable energy machine, using only wind, water and solar energy to run the yacht and provide an exceptional experience of peace on board and exploration of the sea.”
He has also stated that the yacht is furnished with underwater turbines, capable of charging the batteries.
