Boat shows are a great way to thrust yourself into the yachting industry and make some valuable contacts, while having a great time. For crew, although it’s a busy time, the numerous balls, parties and evening events makes it an enjoyable and memorable experience. The shows have a variety of events to help show goers network, relax and party and this page aims to give you details on the most popular.

Monaco Yacht Show

This show is one of the most prestigious shows in the yachting calendar, with many wealthy clients and luxury yachting professionals considering it the world’s major event in super yachting. It is a very high end show with over 500 companies attending year on year, and more than 100 superyachts exhibiting. With an average attendance of 33,000 participants and 80 events organised by MYS and exhibitors in the palaces of Monte Carlo or on board superyachts; but getting invited to an event may be more difficult than first thought!

Events during the MYS

MYS Captains’ Ball - The Monaco Yacht Show and their partners invite their best clients, the captains of docked yachts and the managers of the exhibiting companies to the institutional evening party of the MYS, the Captains’ Party. This is an invitation-only party and a black tie affair; it is one of the most prestigious events in the MYS calendar and a very hot ticket.

Dockwalk Captains’ Hideout – Located at Star Deck (above Stars ‘N’ Bars) - The Captain’s Hideout is a refuge for superyacht captains and crew where they can relax and get away from the stress of the yacht show. Complimentary meals and refreshments are on offer as well as free high-speed internet access in a comfortable, private environment away from the crowds.

Yachting Pages Terrace – This event takes place every year during the Monaco Yacht Show at Stars ‘N’ Bars restaurant set adjacent to a main entrance of the show. It offers an exclusive networking hub for businesses, crewmembers and industry professionals, located outside in a spacious, shaded area of the restaurant's premises. Each year Yachting Pages Terrace hosts its annual drinks and networking event creating a further opportunity to connect with superyacht industry professionals.

Cannes Yachting Festival

With more than 580 yachts on display in water and on land and more than 150 world premiere editions, the three exceptional French Riviera sites, the ‘Vieux Port’, the ‘Port Pierre Canto’ and the "Palais des Festivals", located at either end of the famous Croisette in Cannes, are perfect for hosting Europe’s leading in-water boat show.

The Cannes Yachting Festival brings together the key players in pleasure boating and international luxury yachting, whether they are exhibitors showcasing their new vessels, products, services or visitors, yacht owners or future buyers, they are enthusiastic and eager to take advantage of a unique opportunity offered by this show - sea trials!

Events at Cannes Yachting Festival

Exhibitors’ Reception – Each year on the Friday between 8pm and 10pm at the Cannes Yachting Show an exhibitors’ reception is hosted for all those with a ticket. This is a great networking event and a relaxed affair. Many exhibitors keep their stands open offering drinks and food to enjoy. Yachting Pages’ Stand - Each year Yachting Pages has a fully stocked bar and welcomes guests for drinks throughout the show. In 2014 Yachting Pages was also joined by mixology experts, Bar Technics who provided three exclusive and delicious cocktails for visitors to try. The last two years, the team has also worked with Bertrand Poncet Massages to offer relaxing massages to passers by.

Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS)

The Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show takes place across six sites and is one of the world’s most prestigious luxury boat shows. The show is the biggest in terms of exhibitor space, with over three million square feet on land & in water. FLIBS’ showcases a range of yachts, marine businesses and accessories from yacht builders and designers, to luxurious cars and yachts for sale, worth more than $3 billion.

National Marine Crew Party – The annual NMS Customer Appreciation Party is a must go for any yacht crew. Often one of those parties that is talked about weeks later; it is one of the biggest crew parties of the year. Usually the party has a theme and unlike most events at boat shows this is a real party atmosphere and drinks are constantly flowing. This is one event you won’t want to miss.

Lurssen Beach Bash – Lurssen hold an annual Halloween party at FLIBS every year. It is fancy dress and an invitation only event; a great place to have fun and network in a relaxed environment - 2014 is their 17th annual beach bash and the dress code is ‘Hollywood Halloween’.

Dockwalk Captains’ Hideout - – Located at Bahia Mar - The Captain’s Hideout is a refuge for superyacht captains and crew where they can relax and get away from the bustle of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Complimentary meals and refreshments are on offer as well as free high-speed internet access in a comfortable, private environment away from the crowds.

Fort Yachtie Da International Film Festival - The Fort Yachtie Da International Film Festival is a video competition organised by Crew Unlimited for luxury yacht crew to exercise their creative talents in the medium of video shorts. A fun and elegant award ceremony is then held where the awards are presented. This usually takes place a couple of weeks after FLIBS.

Other boat shows

Dubai - Dubai International Boat Show unites high-end buyers and world-class suppliers from the most lucrative regions in the world. It is the most anticipated event in the Middle Eastern maritime calendar.

Antibes - Les Voiles d'Antibes is the only brokerage and charter show before the season in the Mediterranean area and signifies the start of the Med yacht season.

METS - Marine Equipment Trade Show – Is the world's largest exhibition of equipment, materials and systems for the international marine leisure industry.
