Porto Montenegro announces pilot partnership with Seabin Project

Porto Montenegro has announced a pilot partnership with the Seabin Project, which it has branded as a revolution in sea cleaning technology.

The Seabin collects all floating rubbish, oils, fuel and detergents from the water, and helps to create a cleaner sea with healthier marine life.

In a recent press release, representatives of the marina said, “Porto Montenegro has a long-standing history of environmental initiatives and forward thinking, which has put us at the forefront of the highly exclusive and competitive nautical industry.

“Porto Montenegro and Seabin Project will be largely focusing on the technical development of the Seabins with an even emphasis on the educational and research aspect.”

Porto Montenegro will be acting as ambassadors of the pilot progamme in the hope that more ports and marinas will soon follow its lead, participating in the data and research programmes that come free of charge with the purchase of Seabins mid-year, when commercial sales start.

Peter Ceglinski, co-founder and director of Seabin said, “For the team at Seabin, this forward thinking, pro-active and environmentally conscious marina is both an ideal partner and location to test and trial the V5 Seabin and also to further develop innovative technology and programmes.”

Tony Browne, marina director at Porto Montenegro added, “As a progressive world-leading superyacht marina, Porto Montenegro is excited to be teaming up with the Seabin Project as a pilot partner.

“Maintaining a clean and rubbish-free marine environment has always been important focus for Porto Montenegro. Partnering with Seabin Project allows us to not only improve our waterborne refuse collection methods, but to also become part of a bigger environmental initiative by way of educating the next generation in the importance of environmental awareness, and recycling / up-cycling of existing refuse. We are excited to have this opportunity and look forward to testing the Seabin in the near future.”
