Porto Montenegro announces the ACREW Superyacht Winter Games 2020

2020 is now upon us, meaning all speed ahead for The Superyacht Winter Games in Porto Montenegro, with two fun-packed weekends of sporting and entertainment activities approaching, on 7th – 9th February and 27th – 29thMarch.

Porto Montenegro, one of the Mediterranean’s leading luxury yacht homeports and marina villages, will be home to the new and exciting superyacht winter games.

The games are open to everyone, from Port Montenegro marina crew members, to crew from other marinas in the Adriatic and the wider Med. The total prize for winning teams is ‎€5,000 (£4240.85)!

Danilo Kalezic, senior PR and marketing manager at Porto Montenegro, explained, “Across the two weekends, we take keen participants on a mountain sports adventure in Kolasin, with all of the typical snow sports like skiing, snowboarding and snow biking, alongside unconventional ‘Big Foot’ skiing on wooden skis to add a fun and competitive edge to the tournament.”

The idyllic, rural mountain setting is perfect for participants to experience a genuine and authentic Montenegrin experience, as well as an abundance of parties at the ski centre 1600 to thaw the snowy chill and spice up the wintery nights.

Meanwhile, at coastal sea level, the winter games agenda takes a different approach by sporting on-water favourites, such as sailing, archery, miniature golf and volleyball, as well as a decathlon and more.

Tony Browne, marina director at Porto Montenegro, commented, “Porto Montenegro has always been focused on the wellbeing of captains and crew by providing a very active calendar of events. Over the years we have upgraded our Crew Clun programme to include Warsash Superyacht Academy courses, summer weekly BBQs and winter ski weekends. The Porto Montenegro ACREW Superyacht Winter Games is a fantastic winter escape for crew from any location in the Mediterranean. The games provide an opportunity for participants to experience days in the stunning Montenegrin mountains, and/or on the coast, where they can put their sporting prowess to the test against the other competing teams”.

Onno Ebbens, ACREW director and owner, added, “We are very excited to host this event together with Porto Montenegro. This will be our first event that doesn’t include the sea and we believe our crew members will be delighted to have an amazing weekend in the snow, with learning and a lot of fun and entertainment”.

Participants prepare for an atmosphere of healthy competition, team building, great parties and delicious local Montenegrin food at the most animated events on the Porto Montenegro winter calendar.

Entries are priced at ‎€100 (£84.85) per person, per edition, covering accommodation, food, sports equipment, instructors, ski passes and airport transfers.

The winning team in the mountains will take home ‎€3,000 (£2544.77), while the winning team in Tivat with take home ‎€2,000 (£1696.51). It’s an opportunity not to miss!
