Porto Montenegro Yacht Club (PMYC) is set to host a range of exciting sailing events

This summer Porto Montenegro Yacht Club (PMYC) is set to host a range of exciting sailing events for new and seasoned sailors alike. In addition to a number of new bespoke sailing packages for corporate and leisure travellers, monthly regattas and experiences will include the Arsenal Cup Weekend, the Classics Cup and the new Adriatic Offshore Thousand Islands Race.

Taking place on the 12th and 13th July, the Arsenal Cup Weekend is a popular annual regatta attracting teams from across the region. This year, for the first time, all classic format yachts are invited to race on Sunday, in addition to Saturday's race, to compete for the Classics Cup.

The new Adriatic offshore Thousand Islands Race will run from the 18th to 28th September and is jointly organised by the PMYC and the Sailing Club of Rijeka (SCOR). The race will take place between the Croatian port city of Rijeka and Tivat, running a course of approximately 300 miles along one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world.

PMYC has also recently launched a variety of sailing experiences designed as short trips for business and leisure travellers. Groups can improve their sailing skills surrounded by the natural beauty of the Bay of Kotor on a programme tailor-made to their abilities. Activities follow either a classic regatta format or focus on beginner-friendly sailing, making use of the PMYC's fleet of Blu26 and Tofinou 9.5 boats.

The Regatta Experience is designed to support more experienced sailors towards improving their competition and regatta performance by honing race skills in on a high performance yachts whilst the Boka Bay Sailing Experience is ideal for beginners, providing a leisurely introduction to sailing which will leave each participant with a new skill to take home.

Both experiences are ideal for corporate groups, where management skills can be perfected during team building exercises and the day can be customised to each group's level of experience. Each includes a full day's activity programme, breakfast, lunch, snacks and water, as well as digital photography of the participants in action.

PMYC also caters for younger visitors, as the Sailing Club for Kids is a ten-week course that immerses children from 8 to 16 in all aspects of dinghy sailing, from on-water activities to washing down and stowing the boats. On completion of the course each child receives a RYA certificate as part of the Youth Sailing Scheme (courses start in July and September).
