Prime Megayachts reveals further details for 50m Project Next

Following announcement of its new range of 50m semi-custom concept yachts at the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show, Prime Megayachts has revealed more details for the first in the range, Project Next.

The first of four new 50m semi-customs from the new yacht builder, Project Next has been penned by Azure Naval Architects, one of three designers working on the range.

Azure designer Bob van der Meiracker explained that the design features all the benefits of a 70m on a 50m platform named Prime. He said, "Prime is in our minds a platform that offers so much space, that it creates a 70-metre yachting experience on a 50-metre yacht. Layouts were optimised for private or charter se, while still retaining the ability to be repurposed for client-specific interests such as health and wellness, sports enthusiasts, etc…”

New renderings released reveal that Project Next will feature a dramatic main-deck sky lounge, with floor-to-ceiling windows. All decks and guest areas will be serviced by a central glass superyacht lift.

Below deck, Project Next will boast an aft superyacht beach club with all-glass stern door for ample natural light even while underway. This will come equipped with sauna, spa area, gym, and a five-person, flush-mounted spa pool.

Prime also shared that Project Next will feature a foredeck swimming pool with flexible furniture arrangements.

Speaking at the 2016 Monaco Yacht Show last September, Barin Cardenas, president of Prime Megayachts said, “Prime is the first genuine semi-custom megayacht platform – virtually everything above the waterline is up to the buyer.”

It was announced that a potential buyer had been secured for hull number one at the time of the show, with a letter of intent signed, but it seems that the project is still waiting for the right client to get underway.

Prime has partnered with builders on both sides of the Atlantic, most recently Burger Boats in the U.S., but it is believed that Project Next will be built at the Jachtwerf Bloemsma shipyard facility in Makkum, Netherlands.
